The first official photo of the BlackBerry 9700 (also known as the BlackBerry Onyx) has come out in the open! It’s reportedly headed for T-Mobile (as indicated by the branding) sometime in November and will be the carrier’s first 3G-capable BlackBerry handset.

Evidently absent is the directional pad on the left-hand side of the QWERTY keypad. There is also a mild keypad layout makeover along with the addition of directional keys on the right-hand side.

The HTC Mega looks a lot like the HTC Touch HD but of course miniaturized, since the former features only a 2.8-inch QVGA screen while the latter features 3.8-inches of WSVGA real estate.
