The Apple iPhone 3G S has been announced and will be available starting June 19, 2009. It is aesthetically the same as the iPhone 3G, but is slightly different internally.
The Apple iPhone 3G S will reportedly have increased performance (better processor) over its predecessor, the Apple iPhone 3G. It will also have video recording capability with in-phone editing, voice control and digital compass. The camera has been improved from 2 megapixels to 3 megapixels with autofocus and tap-to-focus. Battery life has also been slightly improved.
The Apple iPhone 3G S 16GB is priced at $199 while the 32GB version is priced at $299. These prices require a new two-year contract with AT&T. For non-qualified customers, including existing AT&T customers who want to upgrade from another phone or replace an iPhone 3G, the price with a new two-year agreement is $599 (16GB), or $699 (32GB).
