Seemingly in preparation to announcing the latest generation iPhone, Apple is continuously liquidating all remaining stock of their current generation iPhone.
Water-damaged iPhones are now eligible for exchange according to the new policy. Previously, you were only allowed to get a replacement iPhone by buying a new one, which meant extending your service plan for another two years.
According to Mactropolis, Apple will be able to confirm that your device has been submerged in liquid via Liquid Submersion Indicators (LSI) that are placed throughout various areas of the phone.
Liquid-damaged iPhones can be exchanged for $199. Do note that you won’t be getting a brand-spanking new one, you will be handed a refurbished device.
