In dire need of a network connection in your home where the wireless signal is quite undesireable? Have no fear! The Belkin Gigabit Powerline Adapter is here! This nifty network gizmo converts your power outlet into a network connection.
The Belkin Gigabit Powerline HD Starter Kit (F5D4076) package includes the following:
- 2 Gigabit Powerline Networking Adapters
- 2 RJ45 Ethernet Networking Cables
- Quick Installation Guide
- CD with User Manual
Here’s how this thing works:
- You get two adapters in the package.
- Plug one into an outlet nearby your router and connect an ethernet cable between that adapter and your router.
- Plug one into an outlet where you want the other end to be, whether it be in your attic, basement or some other place.
- Connect the ethernet cable to the second adapter and to your device.
The Belkin Gigabit Powerline HD Starter Kit (F5D4076) retails for $149.99 USD and is already available throughout various retailers in North America. It will arrive on European shores sometime early August 2009.
Pretty good price if you ask me, since Belkin’s current 200Mbps Powerline AV Adapter is going for around $120 on Amazon.

Update (July 10, 2009): Surprisingly, almost three weeks after conjuring up this post, this thing still hasn’t been appearing much online. You can try firing up Froogle because there are two online stores selling this already. I’ll update the post accordingly when Amazon already has this device in stock.
