While the HTC Touch Diamond certainly is a pretty thing a look at, it is extremely late in arriving at Verizon’s smartphone inventory. This is due to the fact that its successor will already be released in Taiwan this month.
But for those of you who are thinking about getting the said device… Key features include a 2.76-inch VGA (640 x 480) touchscreen display, 3.2 megapixel autofocus camera, microSD slot expandable to 16GB, Windows Mobile 6.1 along with HTC’s TouchFLO interface on top. These nice features are hampered by having a measly 900mAh battery.
The device has been available on Verizon since April 10th, for $299.99 after $70 rebate and with a new two-year contract agreement. A pretty bad move on Verizon’s part, they should’ve waited for the Touch Diamond2 and offered that instead.
While Taiwan will be getting the Touch Diamond2 sometime this month, the US will get the previous generation. Talk about being late!
