The Asus EEE PC was initially packaged with a Linux operating system. You had to find a way around it, in order to load the device with Windows XP. After sometime, stripped down versions Windows XP have certainly flooded the netbook realm. It’s a reality that most of the world is indeed accustomed to Microsoft’s operating system.
Today, Microsoft is boasting that it currently has 96% of the market share for netbooks. Some retailers are reportedly doing away with selling Linux-equipped netbooks because of the high return rate.
While Linux certainly offers some advantages, there is no doubt that the majority of the world are Windows users.
