Digg is rumored to be making its own has made its own toolbar to compete with StumbleUpon. It was first reported on Twitter. I believe most users have migrated to using StumbleUpon because of the ease of use of its toolbar. It is available on all sites via the browser’s toolbar and you can easily recommend sites to the world. You don’t have to go over to StumbleUpon.com itself in order to recommend a site to your friends. It offers you the features of the StumbleUpon site, without leaving the site that you are currently browsing, that’s what I call nifty!
The Digg toolbar shows the number of times a particular site has been Dugg, a button if you Digg the site, a button to Bury the site, a random button which will take you to a random site based on your previously gathered Digging behavior. Other features along with some screenshots can be found here.
In my opinion the Digg toolbar is long overdue, they should have started mobilizing their application development team when usage reports of the StumbleUpon toolbar increased significantly.
You can download the Digg toolbar here (available only for Firefox).
