
Samsung has announced a new UMPC in the form of the NP-Q1EX. The product is an update to their Q1 series line-up of UMPCs.
Performance of the VIA processor used is currently unknown, we will have to wait for benchmarks to see how it compares to Intel’s Atom processor being used in most netbooks today. It runs on Windows XP Tablet Edition.
Specifications of the Samsung NP-Q1EX UMPC are as follows:
- 1.2GHz VIA Nano ULV U2500 Processor
- 7-inch WSVGA touch screen (1024 x 600)
- VIA Chrome9 HC (HD-capable) graphics
- 2GB of 667MHz DDR2 memory
- 60GB HDD
- 802.11b/g WiFi connectivity
- Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity
- microSD card slot
- 3.5mm audio jack
- 1.3 megapixel camera
- SiRF Star GPS receiver (for car navigation)
- 4-cell 4,000mAh Li-Ion battery
- 8.96″ x 0.9″ x 4.92″ dimensions
- 1.43lbs weight
No release date has been mentioned. Beach Audio shows that pricing is somewhere around $775.
