Sony’s rumored DSC-HX1 is now a reality. The rumored specifications were all true except for the size of the LCD. The Sony DSC-HX1 features a 9MP Exmor CMOS sensor, 20x zoom, 1080p video recording, 3-inch tilt LCD display and 10fps shooting.
The DSC-HX1 features a Sweep Panorama Mode which according to Sony, allows you to take up to 224-degree horizontal or 154-degree vertical shots. The BIONZ imaging processor then automatically stitches the pictures together, creating an eye-popping panoramic photo. Maximum panoramic horizontal resolution is 7152×1080 pixels.
Estimated shipping date is April 2009, the same month as Canon’s Powershot SX1. Price is $500. Complete specifications can be found here.
