Sony USA has recently bestowed a speed bump on the VAIO P series. The usual VAIO P clock speed is 1.33Ghz, the new ones going for a crazy price of $1499.99 have a 1.6Ghz processor which is on par with other brand netbooks. Also onboard: Verizon Broadband module and GPS capability.
USA-released VAIO P’s are stuck with Windows Vista which is definitely a burden for Atom-based processors.
In comparison, importer Dynamism sells Japan-sourced VAIO P’s which have a 2.0Ghz processor, 256GB SSD and optional Windows XP! Take your pick.
