Not exactly sure when they made the updates but I was surprised to recently find out that Google Maps now has updated geographical information for the Philippines. Most places can now be seen in great detail. Satellite images can be zoomed up to one step less than the maximum allowed. Shown above is the University of the Philippines Diliman Campus. Even most of the street names are correctly spelled! Many landmarks along with building names are also properly indicated.
