The Apple iPhone is not just popular to regular consumers, it is also being used by the US military.
Due to the iPod Touch’s relative low cost, it is easily considered as an alternative to expensive military devices. The $229 price of the 8GB variant may very well be considered expensive among common consumers, but we’re talking about military weaponry which cost tons more!

Currently, AT&T has exclusive rights to the Apple iPhone, from its release in 2007 to until 2010. AT&T is the second-largest telecommunications provider in the United States. Verizon remains on top.
Reports are popping up all over the web that AT&T is negotiating with Apple to extend the deal to 2011 (possibly more if Apple gives in to them). (more…)
